Oliver’s Camp is in a remote region of Tarangire National Park, 3 hours south of the entrance gate and far from the day-tripper’s traffic congestion. Drive through the Western Corridor of the Serengeti to Speke Bay Lodge. After lunch enjoy a guided walk and bird watch. Take a traditional canoe ride this morning along the shore bank to a nearby village. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure or bird watch along the lake shore. Speke Bay Lodge is located on the south-eastern shore of Lake Victoria in Tanzania, East Africa. It is 15 kilometres from the Serengeti National Park National Park, and 125 kilometres north of Mwanza. Set in 200 acres of land that over the years turned back into savanna, housing abundant bird life, various small mammals, bush buck, hippo’s and a resident crocodile.

Accommodation: Speke Bay Lodge
Drive back into the Serengeti, viewing wildlife with picnic lunch en route to Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge, your base for one night to explore the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park where you will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives.

The Western Corridor, or Serengeti west, ìs a stretch of land following the course of the Grumeti River from Serengeti Central for about 100 kilometers out towards Lake Victoria. A pair of rivers, the Grumeti River and Mbalageti River, is the dominant geographic feature of the Western Corridor. These rivers run more or less parallel in a westerly direction, about 20 kilometers apart from each other. Both the Grumeti and Mbalageti rivers support substantial chunks of riverine forests before emptying into Lake Victoria. Also, a few minor mountain ranges are found in the area. The Western Corridor is an aesthetically pleasing portion of the park and supports a sizeable spectrum of resident wildlife throughout the year.

The busiest period in terms of visitors is the May-July period which coincides with the Great Migration passing through the Western Corridor on their trek to the north. While the crossing of the Grumeti River may be lesser known compared to its northern counterpart, the crossing of the Mara River, but offers sightings just as exhilarating with the added benefit of fewer fellow visitors at the crossings. The Grumeti River is the first enormous obstacle for the herds to tackle.

Accommodation: Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge
Drive to the famous archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge and the Cradle of Mankind before continuing to Lake Manyara, check in at the famous Lake Manyara Tree Lodge for two nights. Picnic lunch en route Morning game drive in the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park around the lakeshore and your afternoon will be spent visiting a local village.

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, the only lodge inside the park, is located in the south of the Lake Manyara National Park, far away from the bottleneck area of the park. This makes the experience of this relatively small park feel quite remote and quiet. Stylish and luxurious, Lake Manyara Tree Lodge has the best location of any lodge in the area (with a price tag to match), and thanks to clever design it still feels surprisingly connected to its patch of dense forest.

Lake Manyara National Park is best known for the flamboyant flamingos and pouch-mouthed pelicans who find comfort on the tranquil waters of the reserve’s lake of the same name. Home to over 400 species of birds, a birdwatching safari from your camp to the lake will share memorable scenes of these soaring feathered friends.
