About the Park

Nyerere National Park, located in northern Tanzania, is a formerly part of the Selous Game Reserve, is one of Tanzania’s largest national parks, covering over 30,000 square kilometres. Established in 2019, the park is named after Tanzania's first president, Julius Nyerere. Nyerere is characterized by its diverse landscapes, including vast savannas, dense woodlands, and winding rivers. The Rufiji River, which flows through the park, creates a unique ecosystem that supports a wealth of wildlife This combination of ecosystems makes the park a paradise for nature

The Best Time to visit Nyerere National Park is during the dry season, from June to October.
